How the overall total is calculated
For completed periods, we use official aggregated data published by the Ukrainian military command.
After the last officially counted period ends, individual publicly confirmed strikes are added to the total. The current result is therefore marked with ≥: it is the minimum that can be confirmed from open sources.
The scope of official aggregated statistics may be broader than the list of facilities added to the site manually. If the underlying dataset is not published, it cannot be separated or reclassified.
When a strike is added
An event is counted when there are sufficient grounds to conclude that a specific facility was hit, or that fire, destruction or other effects of the attack were recorded on its premises.
Reports of explosions, air-defence activity or an attack without confirmed effects are not sufficient for inclusion.
How repeat strikes are counted
A new strike on the same facility on a different date is counted as a new event. Demilitarizator counts confirmed strike events, not only unique facilities.
Several hits on one facility during the same attack are usually counted as one event. They become separate events only when damage to distinct, independent facilities is confirmed.
What the labels mean
How distance is measured
Distance is approximate and measured in a straight line from Ukraine’s state border to the facility that was hit.
Only operations with publicly confirmed Ukrainian attribution are included. Attacks launched from Russian territory or temporarily occupied territories are excluded from distance records.
Updates and corrections
Data is updated when sufficient confirmation becomes available. Details about a facility, date, category or outcome may be revised after new material is published.
If one event was mistakenly counted twice or supporting evidence proves unreliable, the entry and overall statistics are corrected.
