Ukraine struck a Rubikon UAV warehouse and drone command posts on 22–23 September
On 22 September and overnight on 23 September 2026, Ukraine’s Defence Forces struck a UAV warehouse belonging to Russia’s Rubikon unit, two drone command posts and military logistics facilities in the occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed a series of strikes on Russian unmanned-systems infrastructure and logistics facilities.
New details also emerged on 23 September about damage to the Kuibyshev refinery, which had been struck the previous day.
Strikes on Russian drone infrastructure
Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed strikes on UAV command posts near Novoselivka Persha and Dachne in Donetsk Oblast.
Near Volnovakha, the Defence Forces struck a drone warehouse belonging to Russia’s Rubikon unit. The unit specialises in reconnaissance and attack drones and is actively involved in combat operations against Ukraine.
A concentration of personnel from a Russian UAV unit was also struck near Krasnohorivka.
Fuel and military supply warehouses
Ukrainian forces struck a fuel and lubricants warehouse near Kundriuche in the occupied part of Luhansk Oblast.
Two more Russian military logistics warehouses were struck near Hirnyk and Velyka Shyshivka in Donetsk Oblast.
New details of the Kuibyshev refinery strike
New information emerged on 23 September about the results of the previous day’s strike on the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Samara.
According to preliminary information from Fire Point, the AVT-4 and AVT-5 primary crude-distillation units were hit. An FP-1 long-range drone travelled more than 1,000 kilometres to reach the target.
The Kuibyshev refinery was already included in the Demilitarizator statistics for 22 September, so the newly reported equipment damage is not counted as a separate strike.
Summary for 23 September
The strikes confirmed by the General Staff primarily concern operational and tactical military targets in the occupied territories. Because the scale of the facilities and the extent of the damage have not been specified, they are not added to the Demilitarizator’s overall statistics.
The totals remain unchanged: at least 823 strikes in 2026 and 36 in September, including at least 99 refinery and gas-processing targets.
