Energia in Yelets: missile strike on a battery supplier for Iskander missiles

Yelets · Lipetsk Oblast · daytime on 25 October
Defence industry

Reports of a missile strike on the Energia plant in Yelets, Lipetsk Oblast, emerged during the day on 25 October. The OSINT project Exilenova+ published footage of explosions and a fire, reporting several hits on the factory grounds.

Energia specialises in chemical power sources: batteries, rechargeable batteries and power cells. Its role in Russian weapons production is documented on the War & Sanctions portal run by Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence.

According to Defence Intelligence, the company supplies batteries for Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Iskander-K cruise missiles, Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles and Tsirkon missiles. Its products are also used in Pantsir missiles and UMPB D-30SN guided aerial bombs.

These are components without which the weapons cannot function. Onboard power is needed by electronics and control systems, making battery supply part of the missile production process.

Avisma in Berezniki: drones attack a titanium industry plant

Berezniki · Perm Krai · overnight and morning of 25 October
Defence industry

Explosions and a drone attack were reported in Berezniki, Perm Krai, overnight into 25 October and during the morning. Exilenova+ identified the target as the Avisma chemical and metallurgical plant.

The Berezniki site belongs to VSMPO-Avisma, one of the world’s largest producers of titanium products.

Titanium is used where components need to be strong, relatively light and able to withstand heavy loads. Applications include aircraft, engines, missiles and space technology. Companies in this industry therefore also matter to Russian military production.

The identification of the attacked site currently rests on OSINT reports. Information on specific damaged production units or the duration of any shutdown is not available.

General Staff confirms strikes on Russian radars and command posts

Belgorod Oblast · occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions · 24–25 October
Military targets

On 25 October, Ukraine’s General Staff reported the results of strikes carried out on 24 October and overnight into 25 October.

Radar stations near Gostishchevo and Kurgannoye in Belgorod Oblast were hit. They helped Russian forces detect aerial targets and pass information to air defence systems. Hitting them creates gaps in radar coverage and expands the opportunities for Ukrainian drone operations.

Strikes were also confirmed on a Russian unit’s command post near Tarasivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and a command and observation post near Hola Prystan in Kherson Oblast.
