Ukraine hits Saratov oil refinery and Oryol missile parts plant
Ukrainian drones attacked Russia’s Saratov oil refinery overnight into 7 November 2026, while Neptune missiles hit the Proton-Electrotex plant in Oryol, a supplier of components for Iskander missiles. Fires broke out at both sites. Ukraine’s General Staff also reported hits on two Iskander launchers and a Pantsir-S1 air defence system in Bryansk Oblast.
Drone attack on the Saratov oil refinery
A fire broke out at the Saratov oil refinery after the overnight drone attack. Open-source analysts at ASTRA used footage filmed by a witness to locate the fire on the refinery grounds. It remains unclear which equipment was damaged or whether the plant halted operations.
The refinery can process about seven million tonnes of crude oil a year. It produces petrol and diesel, including fuel for the Russian military. A confirmed strike on 11 September damaged a crude distillation unit and a section of pipeline.
Ukrainian drones attacked at least five Russian oil refineries in the first week of November. They hit Kstovo on 1 November, Yaroslavl on 3 November, Ryazan on 5 November, Afipsky on 6 November and Saratov on 7 November.
The full list and the number of strikes on each plant are in our 2026 tracker of strikes on Russian oil refineries.
Neptune missiles hit the Proton-Electrotex plant in Oryol
Ukrainian missile troops struck Proton-Electrotex using the Ukrainian Navy’s coastal Neptune missile systems. The General Staff confirmed a hit and a fire on the plant’s grounds. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The plant makes electronics for Russian missiles, including modules for the air-launched Kover cruise missile and inverter switches for Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
Two Iskander launchers and a Pantsir-S1 system hit in Bryansk
Ukraine’s General Staff reported strikes on two Iskander launchers and a Pantsir-S1 air defence system in Bryansk Oblast in its update covering 6 November and the following night. The extent of the damage is still being assessed. During the same period, Ukrainian forces struck Russian supply depots near Sokologirsk and Zaaidarivka in occupied Luhansk Oblast.
